Oooh! Now this reminds me of Frank Klepacki's work a little bit. The sounds are really pleasing to me. The way the bass moves, the way the synths are so soft, and the way the drums are abstract... it's just so lovely. I'm judging your song individually from the other one, and I'm still very pleased with this. Please, make more music like this! You're good at it! Keep up the superb work!

Take care,
Ka'eo

P.S. Look Frank Klepacki up, and listen to his music from the Command & Conquer series. Mainly, look up the Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 soundtrack on his site in the bottom player, and check it out for yourself. One of his songs is like this one here. A masterpiece. =]

Haha, thanks man!

Actually, I like the way this sounds. The name of your two songs are repulsive, because they just seem robotic and without a mindful flavor. However, the taste of the music itself is sweet, and has a hint of darkness to it. I like that a lot. It's another Silent Hill-ish treat for the night! Can't wait to hear your second one! Keep up the great work!

Ka'eo

Sythec responds:

This one makes me want to move, its progression flows like a river-rapid over a declining surface. I would not go as far to extend that this is anything relative to a sub-par horror mantra... But I agree, it has a dark-tantrum effect on it- this and especially Scrap Hands.

**I have been trying to work on these two clips, although it is rather difficult to disassemble a clip (by my defenition is usually just me shitting-loops and slightly variating them) and then try and stretch it into something much more grandiose. I'll often lose the vibe that I was going for from the sole originating clip/loop.

Ugh... Much work.

Actually, this song was sort of good-sounding for a first try in FL Studio. The drums, although dry and overused, sounded nice in a way. The other instruments used were sort of recognizable and a little cheesy. So, just work harder on your music, and gain experience. To gain experience, just keep making music, and don't give up! You've got a bright future ahead of you, friendo!

Ka'eo

P.S. Try not to let my score get you down. I'm just giving my fair opinion. =]

I really almost WOULD like to apologize for the low score, but I gave it to you for a reason. For a classical song, it is quite repetitious and somewhat annoying. I could imagine this being in a series like "The Happy Tree Friends", but then it still wouldn't exactly be a classical piece. I'm not enjoying the lack of 'dimension' or what you would normally call dynamics, but there is still just a bit to this song that is pleasing. I like the melody a little, and the plucks are a cute addition. Heheh. Lighthearted and happy song? A little more clashy, clumsy, but still cute. Just keep working at it!

Well thanks I guess...at least you were honest.

I, myself, appreciate you having listed what instruments you've used in your song. It helps me evaluate your music a little more, so thanks. Anyways, I like the tune a lot! Some of the instruments I am not fully satisfied with, but I still understand the feel you may be trying to get here. Or, perhaps you have so many synths and samples to play with that you just HAVE to settle on something. Heheh. I do urge you to try some new sounds, and not just use presets. Still, I do use presets myself sometimes, and just add heavy modification. Or, I open up presets and start modifying them to sound more like how I want them to sound. You should try that too! Don't be afraid to play with sound! It wants to be molded, and wants to be pleasing to its maker and listeners. I advise you just keep on keeping on, and keep up the great work! You did good!

Ka'eo

ZaronX responds:

Yes, the day will come when I'm not afraid of all of Sytrus's little knobbies and weird things. right now i got to the point where I was able to get the choir to build up volume quicker, and felt obscenely proud of myself. o3o One step at a time, I guess. I'm slowly gettin' braver~ And better in the process.

thanks for the feedback. : )

Sort of bland, and the piano was at the same velocity pretty much the whole time. There were no dynamics, and no melody. The thumping bass drum was pretty cool, and made the song a bit deeper, but not too deep. Keep working at your stuffs, and eventually you'll have a much better song. Sounding alright, my friendo! =]

P.S. Jack Nicholson played The Joker... and not The Riddler. Jim Carrey played The Riddler. =D

Honestly, this isn't very good. I'll tell you why, too. First of all, I can recognize some of the samples you've used, and there isn't much variation to this song. I'm alright with songs that have little variation, but this one doesn't have enough to make up for the lack of good sound. The drums are dry, don't really match, and there is very little bass to help back up what you've got here. The best part, in my opinion, is the ending. Not because it ends, but because I really like the faint rim shot and the deep cave crawling noise. So, even though this song isn't very listenable, you sure can improve, and I hope you will! Good luck!

Ka'eo

seanbroccoli responds:

...i didnt use any pre-recorded samples. did i say that in the description? why, i think i said something to the effect of me recording/sequencing etc everything myself.

go ahead and bash me for other shit, but give me credit where its due.

Not very appealing to me, but I was once in your shoes. I've had musical compositions I created which sounded like this, and I'll tell you how it sounds. It sounds dry, cheap, and with little power. It sounds very stockish, and so I recommend you 'stock' up on better samples, or that you start creating some better sounding synths. You're heading in a good direction, though, I'll tell you that! Keep up the good work!

I enjoy your helping criticism, unlike those who tend to comment "this sucks" and say it was criticizing. Thank you for the feedback though

Ah, a sweet tune. I'll always remember this melody from Final Fantasy VII. Such a great tune, and this is really easy to listen to. You did a good job on it! It really is a nostalgic song. Though, the only thing this song probably lacks is a little more interesting. Maybe some variation with motifs, or adding a heavier part in the song. That's just my two cents anyways. Thanks for your contribution, and keep up the great work!

Trojeck responds:

Thanks for the kind and helpful review. And yes I will keep up the good work for all of the music fans out there. I'll try putting a heaver thin in the beggening and up date it though.
Thanks again,

This is a cool song! The worst part of this, I'd have to say, is the trumpet, actually. It's just really high-pitched and annoying to me. The rest of the loop sounds pretty sinister and cool! I like that.

Your friend,
Ka'eo

P.S. I'm going to see if I can do something with this. I'd love to make a longer mix of it. =]

gamerworld14 responds:

thanks for your comment. I appreciate it, I know the trumpet might get a little annoying, so should i tune the volume down on it or what? Pm me please so I can fix it to what you want...thanks
