Eh, not too appealing to me, and apparently not very appealing to the other listeners who gave you low scores as well. I like the song Take Me On, but this didn't do it any justice. The melody is in there, but it isn't going down well. Also, the drums are a bit dry and uninteresting. Anyhow, just keep at the music! You have some potential!

P.S. I did like the layout for the beat you had set up there. =]

thanks I really didn't mean to offend anyone and I feal stupid now cause something told me not to post it but I did this remix I made the beat I found the pieces, cut them and mixed them together myself so that one guy is a liar!

Quite pleasing to my ears, and very aural! Very atmospheric! I could just imagine the RPG in my head, right now. This piece is simply majestic, inspiring, and pretty close to being full. It's more of an orchestral ballad, but that captures the 'sea of tranquility' you speak of. This is great! Not quite a perfect loop, but it works. Please, keep up the awesome work! I hope your friend is pleased! =]

Grimzag responds:

I know the loop is bad. This is intended to be a midi file which doesn't trail off at the end, but newgrounds requires I submit mp3s and my program always adds a little extra to the end of my pieces. i suppose in future I could cut them.

This wasn't very pleasing to my ears, but I wanted to give you some props for the nice beat, and for using the infamous hoover. Really, I just don't like the sound. I'm sure others will, but just take note that some of the sounds are just really off and out there. It doesn't make for a pleasing listening experience quite as much as other songs I've heard on Newgrounds do. Anyways, just keep at it!

P.S. Don't let a little review discourage you either. =]

fair enough i like doing things that no-one else on newgrounds really does so its kinda unique but it can hurt your ears sometimes

What you put down sounded OK, and so you get an OK score. I would have liked more effort and 'polishing', but I know what you mean in your commentary. Just do as you feel. If you enjoy making music, don't let the pro-production process stop you! You've got potential. I hear it in this. Don't cheap out! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the review, Godknown. Yeah, I'll probably update this file eventually with a more polished version. Judging from the current score (1.26), Newgrounders aren't very forgiving of unpolished work (or maybe they're not forgiving of weird harmonies... damned if I know. I wish the zero-voters would have left a review to say what they didn't like.)

Great start! I don't like how it repeats a lot in so many places, though. There also isn't enough in this piece. The beginning is so great, and draws me into the melody of the song, but there isn't anything else which is really interesting in this (other than the awesome SID chip sounding lead). The drums were a little weak, and I didn't like the snare so much. Still, the synth is really cool, and that lead works really well! The piano was a nice touch, too! Keep up the great work, friendo!

I definitely like your remix a lot! It's pretty interesting, as is the original composition, but your variation is less limited. I like your sound! Thanks for giving Newgrounds some treasure to behold. Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much! Good to see someone that remembers (or knows) the originals ;)

The best part about this song was probably the drums and acid synth. It was really impressive to hear. The other instruments didn't sound like they went in good with it. The reason why I give you a 4 instead of a 3 is because this piece reminds me of Tekken 3, and the music that was on that game. The reason why I would have given you a 3 is because it sounds like you just took a bunch of premade loops and layered them together. Anyways, keep at it! Good job!

Excellent song you have going here! I like all the sounds you used for it! The reverb on the kick was a nice touch, and just... the whole piece was well strung together. Great job, man! Keep up the great work!

Take care,

Microsis responds:

thanks. Glad u like it

I like the way the synth sounds, and the delay/reverb you added to it. How the synth cuts off with no sustenance sounds really cool. The tune is pretty catchy, but the drums are too simple. Maybe if you added some percussion, claps, or something else, it would make your song more enjoyable. Great job, though! Keep it up!

Ka'eo

RvrndBlack responds:

haha thank you I actually only threw in the hi hats to keep time a litle better and most of the time I have someone else do drum beats because I'm more of the lead synth but thanks again

Nice job with everything. You certainly know how to make sounds crisp and clean! I really like the way the instruments sound. Awesome show, great job! Ha ha. Naw, really, keep the excellent work!

Sincerely,
Ka'eo
