Actually, I really like this. It's very atmospheric and healing to the mind in the beginning. Very inspirational and provocative. This is definitely worth at least a rating of 4 from me just for that. The only thing that got irritating as the song went on was the small humming in the background. But afterwards, when the beat came in, the time crescendo was very effective for the song. The beat was great... but the melody afterwards sounded a little off at some points. Yet, I'd have to say my favorite part of the song is the switch of beat at 2:29, and the switch of melody at 2:42. The little vibraphones gave the song a lighter feel. Then you changed it once again, and it was still yet another excellent movement. Then, the ending fell sweetly, and BOOM! A weird, out-of-place kick. Besides that, this song is VERY well done. You composed it quite well! Just fix the small things and it'll be even better! Keep up the great work!

Not a bad composition at all! I really do like it! I haven't heard this Megaman song, but I guess that should also help me rate it as it should be rated without being a biased Megaman gamer. Heheh. Anyways, it's pretty good and interesting. You kept it interesting as the song went along with lots of diversity. So, the only thing that needs a little improvement are your velocity levels for certain instruments--if you're aiming for more real sound--and the samples as well. So, with all this in mind, you did well! Keep up the good work!

This is some Clockwork Orange kind of stuff right here. I kind of like it, but at the same time, it isn't a very great song. It's just kind of creepy because of the way things sound so dissonant and technological. I personally like it... let's see who else agrees or disagrees, hm? Cool. Keep up the good work, and keep practicing on your compositions to make them better.

Ka'eo

P.S. I'm really glad that I really wasn't just playing two songs at the same time... otherwise it wouldn't be the song you have here. =]

This is actually pretty neat! It kind of reminds me of the Matrix Animations, The Second Renaissance. If you haven't seen it, there is music like this near the beginning when the narrator is speaking about man plotting his own demise... the robots. Anyways, it's a cool loop, and I don't really have anything else to say about it. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I was a little unsure whether I should post the other loop or not but... hell with it. I'll go ahead...

Alright, the sounds are great! They're really good quality. But I can tell that they are loops, and that the program you used is a lot like Garage Band... or IS Garage Band. How I can tell? After skimming through your song to each transition, none of it really went together. But, if you did keep everything sounding close to the same, it would all have been the same... because they are loops. Don't worry, though... it still sounds good to me. Just, don't expect so much praise for a song that is really kind of thrown together. Keep practicing like this, and later, move on to better sequencing programs like FL Studio or Reason.

thank you for the criticism. I really do appreciate it. Uh yes this was my very first one ever, so i wanted to post it and get some kind of idea. And no its not Garage Band but it is a program like it. and thanks again. ill work more on my next one

I know I gave you quite a low score, but this isn't trance in the slightest. This is definitely a derivative of Hardcore music (like the title implies), and could maybe be more specifically classified as Metalcore or Terrorcore. Metalcore, probably, since you classified this song as trance... but none the less, it was a good song, but in the wrong place. I rated it for what it was, but also for what you called it. +4 for a good song. Keep up the good work, and next time, place it in a better category. XD

Sorry if I come across a pretentious too, but it's good to know so you can get better scores. Keep up the good work!

Not bad, but not the best either. The melody in this song isn't very strong, but the bass on the kick was pretty good. That got me thumping my head to the beat a little. For a remix, the song is alright, but amateur good. Especially since I can somewhat hear familiar FL Studio presets. So, if you can figure out what I mean and apply fixes [hints: mixer, layering], then your next songs could get 5/5's from me. So, keep up the good work, friend!

Ruddy88 responds:

yeah thats my worst problem i think, everything sounds too fruity loops. i need to learn FX and all that but to be honest i have no idea what im doing with most of it. i know how to add an echo or use standard FX presets but i dont know how to create a specific sound that im chasing unlessi fluke it. i might look up some tutorials or something. but thanks for the review mate.

This is a pretty good composition you have here. It kind of reminds me of a final stage in Dragon Ball Z or something when everyone comes together to fight the destroyer of the world. Dragon Ball Z because of the drums as well. There was always the kick-snare-kick-snare drum loop. The organ is possibly the best part of this song, the tune being in second, and the full drum loop being third. It doesn't loop as well as it could, and if you could make it loop better, I'm sure some game or flash creators would appreciate it. Great song! Keep up the great work!

Take care,
Ka'eo

Conian responds:

Thanks for the positive feedback! Glad you liked the song. The organ was one of the main ideas I got from a Skies of Arcadia bossfight, I just had to try and implement it in one of my own songs.
As for trying to make it loop better, I'm going to add a bit to the end of the song so the echo of the choir's gone and it doesn't suddenly cut off as it does now. That way, it'll just have the instruments that play at the beginning and it should loop better. Look for an updated version in a few days!

Great piece, but of course, this is what you even have considered as a "duplicate." It doesn't, to me, deserve anything more than an 8/10 for effort and good sound. Keep up the good work, and start creating your own masterpieces to lay down on us. =]

Ruddy88 responds:

thanks mate, and fair cop, wasnt even expecting an 8, but this is an older one i did, just thought id put it up cos i thought i did ok at it. i would like to make a full remix of the song one day, something a little more uptempo, though that would sort of take the feeling away from the song i think... ah well. have a listen to 'whats in your head', that ones a bit more of a remix per say.

Heh, alright. This song is pretty neat, I will admit. Let's first get the good out of the way by saying that your description of the song is very well put as it is quite uplifting and sounding more towards the romantic atmosphere. Now, for screwing around on FL Studio, it sounds decent. So... that's the good.

On the flip side, the song feels more empty than I think it should really be. This is my opinion, but for such a great intro in the beginning, I thought the chorus would blow me away. The song had a decent build-up, but as soon as the snare roll ended, it was as if there was no fulfillment. Like, the song truly had potential but was stomped by the emptiness. What I think it is is the lack of bass and mids. You don't need to put those in, but I think the song would be more powerful with those.

I floated at 2:05, and loved it... but again, after the build-up... it just wasn't enough. Keep in mind that for dance or trance choruses, you usually want to make them much more lively and [awesome] than the build-ups or verses. Really, this song has potential. You have potential... so live up to it, and keep up the great work! =]

Take care,
Ka'eo
